Crispy and flavorful baked chickpea chips made from simple ingredients including chickpea flour, water, and herbs. These gluten-free chips are perfect as a healthy snack or served with your favorite dips.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 80 grams chickpea flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 140 grams water

Seasonings

  • Chopped fresh herbs, dried herbs, or spices (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) to ensure it’s ready for baking.
  2. Prepare Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine 80 grams of chickpea flour, 140 grams of water, and ½ teaspoon salt. Whisk the mixture thoroughly until smooth and free of lumps.
  3. Line Baking Sheets: Line two baking sheets with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ease chip removal.
  4. Spread Batter: Spoon the batter onto the parchment-lined baking sheets and spread it evenly into thin circular shapes to form the chips.
  5. Add Herbs or Spices: Sprinkle chopped fresh herbs, dried herbs, or spices over the batter for added flavor, if desired.
  6. Bake: Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the chips turn golden and the edges are lightly browned.
  7. Cool and Serve: Remove the chips from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheets for 15 to 20 minutes. Once cooled, carefully peel them off the parchment and serve plain or with your favorite dips.

Notes

  • Ensure the batter is spread thinly to achieve crispy chips.
  • Experiment with different herbs and spices to customize the flavor.
  • Store cooled chips in an airtight container to maintain crispness.
  • These chips are naturally gluten-free and vegan.
