A vibrant and refreshing Jalapeño-Mango Margarita that perfectly balances sweet mango and spicy jalapeño flavors. This cocktail is garnished with a chili powder and sea salt rim for an extra kick, making it a perfect choice for summer gatherings or a zesty happy hour treat.

Ingredients

Garnish

  • Sea salt for garnish, optional
  • Chili powder for garnish, optional
  • 1 slice fresh jalapeño, cut about ½-inch thick (for rim)

Drink

  • 2 fresh jalapeño slices, cut about ½-inch thick
  • ¼ cup diced mango
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 2 ounces mango nectar
  • 1 ounce orange liqueur (orange jus)
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass Rim: Mix sea salt and chili powder on a small plate. Run a fresh lime slice around the rim of your serving glass, then dip the rim into the salt and chili powder mixture to coat. Flip the glass over, add ice, and set aside.
  2. Muddle Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, muddle the jalapeño slices and diced mango together. This releases the jalapeño oils and breaks down the mango for maximum flavor infusion.
  3. Add Liquids and Shake: Pour in the lime juice, mango nectar, tequila, and orange liqueur into the shaker. Add ice to fill. Secure the shaker top and shake vigorously for at least 15 seconds to chill and mix all ingredients well.
  4. Strain and Serve: Strain the margarita mixture into the prepared ice-filled glass. Garnish if desired and enjoy your refreshing Jalapeño-Mango Margarita!

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of jalapeño based on your preferred spice level.
  • Use fresh lime juice for the best taste.
  • The chili powder and salt rim adds a spicy-salty contrast to the sweet mango flavors.
  • You can use mango puree if mango nectar is unavailable, but nectar will give a smoother texture.
  • Ensure to shake well to fully blend flavors and chill the cocktail.
